The year of the pandemic has impacted many of our usual activities including the Band and Strings programs.

 

But ... at Lindfield PS our students and community are resilient and creative, even managing to continue running these valuable extra-curricular programs. From face-to-face rehearsals, to ZOOM, then back to face-to-face with physical distancing, everyone has bounced back and kept playing their music.

 

Music is a social balm that soothes anxiety, provides joy and creates a sense of belonging. Music has the power to comfort and inspire us to overcome challenges together.

 

Congratulations to all our strings and band musicians for maintaining your skills through practice. Thank you to all the conductors, tutors, convenors and committee members who have shown strength and determination to make sure that our children continue to be blessed with the gift of music.

 

I look forward to seeing and hearing the band and string ensembles playing to live audiences in the near future so that that they can once again shine brightly on the stage!
