2020 MUSIC SPECTACULAR
JUNIOR BAND
This youngest group in our program has had the most unusual experience in the history of our school band. After only three weeks together in term 1 - barely enough time to get to know each other and learn the ropes of how a band rehearsal works - they were thrust into virtual rehearsals, which was a new and strange space for all of us on all sides of this program, but a particularly big challenge for our absolute beginners.

Nonetheless, this group demonstrated such spirit, resilience, good humour, adaptability, and independence throughout the ever-changing year, and have come to the end of their first year as a truly impressive graduating Junior Band!

This year has meant we haven't had our fair share of time together - to get to know each other, to get to know all of the parents and families, to perform, and to experience music camp and other special times together. And yet, what we are able to present at the end of this crazy journey is truly heartwarming and inspiring! I am already looking forward to being reunited with this amazing group when they become Concert Band in 2022!
And in the meantime, I wish them a wonderful second year of learning and music-making with Mr Marsden as Intermediate Band in 2021.
